Dining room at Table 45, Cleveland, OHTable 45, inside the InterContinental Hotel & Conference Center, and with Zack Bruell at the helm, is airy, modern and sleek. The wood is blond, frosted glass is plentiful, and the private booths pique one’s curiosity as to the activity within. The menu is equally fresh and evocative with an emphasis on India, Asia and the Middle East, redefined with an American accent. Rice paper-wrapped crab cakes served with a spicy Asian rémoulade or tandoori naan with three dipping sauces (the India pickled lime aïoli is our favorite) are among the extensive list of international appetizers. Salad, meat and fish selections draw inspiration from equally far-flung ports of call, but perhaps the most enduring feature is the one that seems closest to Cleveland in spirit: the signature grilled chicken breast with watercress and pommes frites with beurre blanc.
