THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Taco Station Restaurant Review:
This historic 1920s gas station converted into a very respectable taco stand is a delightful concept. All the seating is al fresco, at tables shaded by red umbrellas beside the station’s vintage Fire Chief pumps, dressed up with a fresh coat of glossy red paint. The tortillas are made on-site and the tacos are small, but so are prices. Among the standouts are barbacoa de res (shredded beef in mild chile barbecue sauce), nicely charred carne asada with a dollop of silky guacamole, and a reasonably authentic version of the Yucatán specialty, cochinita pibil (pork marinated with achiote, topped with pickled onions). You can also find crispy tacos, quesadillas and vegetarian tacos filled with nopales or faux chorizo made with tofu.
