THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Taipan Restaurant Review:
The setting---with its white-tile walls, decorative red tubing and open kitchen---is almost space-age. The cha siu bao (steamed pork buns) are especially appealing---we consider them among the best in town. The sizzling shrimp, tart lemon chicken (deep-fried white meat), catfish filet with black bean sauce and black pepper barbecued pork also come highly recommended. Lunch specials are an especially good value, with none of the 45 dishes topping the $5 mark.
