With its brightly colored walls, images of tango dancers and energetic ownership, this tiny strip center café exudes casual charm. For a relative bargain, a couple can share the parrillada---a mountain of steak, chicken, ribs, blood sausage, sweetbreads and shrimp from the grill---after snacking on empanadas with chimichurri sauce. Reflecting the Italian heritage of much of Argentina’s population, various pastas are offered, along with a satisfying fugazzetta pizza (topped with mozzarella, onions, olives and oregano). Milanese-style beef or chicken and entrana (skirt steak) pair well with a glass of Argentinean Malbec. An Italian sausage sandwich or tostado (pressed ham-and-cheese sandwich) are good options for a quick lunch.
