The sophisticated 1908 brick building on Capitol Hill sets the stage for this sexy, multi-level hideaway. In the kitchen, chef Michael Bruno mingles traditional Latin-inspired dishes with Pacific Northwest ingredients, such as habanero-spiked Dungeness crab with portobello mushrooms, sweet black vinegar and wakame (seaweed). Ideal for sharing, the cinnamon-spiced pork carnitas, chipotle tiger prawns, or lamb with a tamarind and coriander marinade will satisfy a table. Be sure to order El Diablo---a giant cube of rich bittersweet chocolate mousse cake dusted with cayenne, spicy almonds and cocoa nibs, and finished with a tequila caramel sauce. Wines from Spain, Chile and Argentina are complemented by a list of ports and sherries.
