THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tappo Restaurant Review:

With its brick walls, long communal tables, rough-hewn wooden wine bar, and a festive food bar overlooking the kitchen, Tappo is exactly the kind of restaurant where youthful spirits rejoice in food and atmosphere. The owners have created the perfect balance of hipness and rusticity and on weekends the dining room pulses with a celebratory vibe. The menu reads tapas-like, but with a Mediterranean rather than Spanish bent, with a long list of appetizer-sized dishes and pastas that range in price from $7 to $16 a plate, supplemented by a list of daily entrée specials. On a recent visit, we reveled in dishes like grilled sardines with roasted beets and leeks, endive salad with creamy goat cheese, and grilled baby artichokes topped with pungent Taleggio. We also enjoyed specials of feather-light gnocchi with tomato and basil, and a perfectly good steak tagliata topped with generous shards of excellent quality Parmesan. To top it off, the staff is so warm you won’t even notice the hectic service.
