The Taproom at Firestone Walker Brewing Company Restaurant Review: Although a good portion of the Firestone brand --- including the winery --- has been sold to Foley Wine Estates, The Taproom goes on. The family wisely retained the Firestone Walker Brewery, known in international beer circles as one of the world’s best producers. Andrew Firestone was catapulted to national fame when the third generation winemaker starred in "The Bachelor," and the family name is still a good draw. The Taproom has an onsite brewery and is a good pit stop for those who have worked up a hearty appetite tasting all day, as well as for those who are ready to switch from Pinot to IPA. Wine is, of course, also available. Local produce, much of it organic, is showcased on the menu, which includes wood-fired pizzas, small plates and full entrées including panko-crusted yellowfin and baby-back ribs slathered in Walker’s Reserve barbecue sauce. Salads, a kids’ menu and nightly specials round out the offerings. |
