Taqueria del Sol Restaurant Review: Taking in big bites of street view from expansive windows, this location of Taqueria del Sol purveys the same fresh, inexpensive fare as its siblings. Cross-cultural items include a blue plate special, which may be as Southern as fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Even more appealing is the Waco (where owner-chef Eddie Hernandez grew up), morsels of hickory-smoked beef brisket with Texas barbecue sauce in a flour tortilla. Fish tacos come with poblano tartar sauce and pickled jalapeños to add kick to the mild tilapia. Lots of vegetarian options are available upon request. Check out any specials as these can be quite interesting. You can even fit in a dessert---creamy natilla if it’s available---and get change back from a ten spot. Oh, and this is tequila heaven.
