Expansive windows offer big bites of street view in this location of Taqueria del Sol. Lines out the door form early at lunch as office workers queue up for the fresh, inexpensive fare that is the hallmark of the local four-unit chain. Chef Eddie Hernandez has become famous for his chunky guacamole, shrimp and corn chowder, chili, turnip greens and brisket. Tacos and enchiladas form the foundation of the mains, and the salsas are made in house. Fish tacos come with poblano tartar sauce and pickled jalapeños to add kick to the mild tilapia. Vegetarian options include vegetarian refried beans. We like the salsa verde with the brisket-stuffed enchilada. Check out any specials as these can be quite interesting. The sole dessert is a creamy natilla if it’s available. Oh, and this is tequila heaven, although there are brews, a few wines and other spirits.
