| It's amazing what a dollar will buy at this bare-bones taco-and-tamale joint. This is our number one choice for real Mexican street food---or at least it's somewhere in the top five. Tamales in particular, with beef, pork, chicken or vegetables, are plump and flavorful. Regulars often call to order them uncooked for parties. But the rest of the sizeable menu shouldn't be overlooked, as you'll spy items not seen elsewhere in Boston, be it quesadillas stuffed with chorizo and potatoes or tortas---like tostadas on sub rolls instead of tortillas. An expanded dining room makes for roomier surroundings, if not the most thoughtful service. |
