Tartine Bistro Restaurant Review: Tartine strives to provide the comfort and ambience of a European café with décor of exposed brick, an old dark-wood bar and chandelier lighting. The cozy dining room is long and narrow, seating thirty-eight; there is additional seating at the bar and, weather permitting, on the patio. The one-sheet seasonal menu offers appetizers, salads, tartines, pizzas, entrées and sides. Start with the fromage served with a sweet fig jam, candied nuts and lavender honey. The namesake tartines are a savory indulgence --- try the beef brisket with a spicy horseradish aïoli. Desserts are also noteworthy, especially the lemon crème brûlée. To accompany dinner, Tartine has a solid selection of reasonably priced wines, including a good variety of by-the-glass pours.
