This Gramercy spot seems at first a little too gimmicky: a blend of Spanish and Chinese dishes makes up the menu. But then you taste these highly inventive delights and you realize there’s something special going on here. Delicate fried chickpea cakes paired with kimchi, a fish sauce-doused shredded green papaya salad, and a soft and gooey grilled octopus are standouts. So is the paella, which comes with crispy rice on top and then layered below with gamey lamb and chicken with a curry accent. Choose from excellent sushi rolls combining tuna and salmon and addictive chicken-stuffed dumplings. The very good wine list has ample amounts of great Riojas while creative cocktails include drinks spiked with buffalo grass-infused vodka. Finish off with crispy churros and melted chocolate for dipping.
