THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tāyst Restaurant & Wine Bar Restaurant Review: Tayst, located just down the road from Vanderbilt University, was Nashville's first establishment to be certified by the Green Restaurant Association, and it’s still one of the city’s most ecologically conscious restaurants. The menu is built around local meats and produce. We recommend the steak, and you can count on some very inventive treatments of pork and lamb, which will change with the season. There’s also always at least one vegetarian entrée. While each dish is matched with a wine suggestion, you can, of course, embark on your own food-and-wine pairing adventure, choosing from an extensive list of wines, but someone quite knowledgeable has done the thinking for you. Desserts change regularly, so keep an eye out for anything featuring fruit that’s in season.
