The Tea Cozy Restaurant Review: Tea rules the realm at this cozy Brit-centric spot housed in a historic century-plus-old Victorian house. Choose from several authentic tea services, even the Royal Tea for two with all the trappings --- scones, house-made preserves, lemon curd, English cream, cakes, biscuits and your choice of classic tea sandwiches such as egg salad or salmon and cucumber. Classic fare also includes a beef or chicken pasty, Stilton on toast, or a Ploughman’s lunch complete with chutney and a pickled onion. Other bites are served up as daily specials, such as a roasted turkey breast tea sandwich with cranberry sauce, a butternut squash and pear bisque, and pecan bourbon butterscotch bread pudding. In addition, there’s a wide variety of British foodstuffs --- Marmite, mushy peas, salad cream and more --- available for purchase, plus almost anything related to tea. |
