| One step inside this sleekly designed spot and we just know we are in for a treat. The soaring three-story dining room is spacious and dramatic, an exciting setting for the innovative cuisine. Ten01 uses fresh, seasonal ingredients to create balanced American dishes. Standout entrées may include plump roasted spring lamb chops with morels, garlic purée, asparagus and lovely goat cheese gnocchi in spring. Pan-roasted sea scallops are served with house-made chorizo, fennel purée, Marcona almonds and Brussels sprouts. Some folks swear they’re addicted to the truffle fries dipped in mustard aïoli. The substantial wine list is indeed impressive with an interesting array of Oregon, California and European selections. Desserts are first-rate as well. Traditional favorites get ramped up a notch; try the super-rich seven vanilla bean crème brûlée or the chocolate chip bread pudding served with a raspberry caramel. This sophisticated restaurant is one of the Pearl District’s most elegant destinations. |
