 Located in the heart of Westwood, Tengu attracts most of its clientele from West Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. It is a pure example of fusion cuisine. You'll find sushi like the Makomoto, spicy tuna, asparagus, seared albacore and scallions with ponzu as well as pan-seared New York steak with fried boniato, grilled ginger asparagus and a pomegranate-saké reduction. For dessert, don't miss the lemon grass-mango crème brûlée. The combination lunch boxes are very popular; they can be filled with seared ahi on grilled sourdough with avocado and wasabi mayonnaise or ginger-crusted chicken with sweet tempura onion and Maui pineapples. The noise level can rise, especially on weekends when the DJ makes his appearances. You can choose to sit at the sushi bar for more action.
