Behind its unprepossessing façade just north of unfashionable Oxford Street, there lurks a wonderful, Ian Shrager-Philippe Stark designed hotel attracting the media as clientele. Tea is served in the intimate, small atrium of the hotel, but most people rightly opt for the outdoor Terrace Grill for tea, with tables and chairs around a small pool surrounded by greenery. Outdoor heaters make this possible in winter, too. Classic tea with a delightful addition: small pieces of chocolate and cheesecake. A full, barbecue-style grill offers dishes such as tuna, vegetarian hot dogs, traditional sausage and beef fillings. Ice cream is also served.
