Thai Basil Restaurant is one of GAYOT's 2013

Thai Basil Restaurant Review: A lively young crowd gathers at this basement level Newbury Street restaurant for flavorful pad thai, soups (tom yum and wonton), curries (red, green or yellow), and stir-fried noodle dishes. The friendly staff also serves up fiery dishes: spice lovers should order items that have a red hot chili next to them. The spicy duck choo chee is a stand-out. In the mood for something milder? Try the Crying Tiger grilled rib-eye steak with cherry tomatoes and asparagus topped with house-made chili sauce. There is a good selection of seafood, too, such as the pla rad prik, your choice of either deep-fried or steamed white pompano topped with a spicy-sour mushroom sauce. |
