| Thai Café satisfies Thai cravings with bracing appetizers such as tom yum goong soup, hot and spicy and bobbing with shrimp, lemon grass, lime leaves, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and cilantro. Fresh spring rolls, served cold, wrapped in rice paper and stuffed with vegetables and shrimp, are accompanied by a spicy peanut sauce. If you're a chile warrior, be sure to order entrées extra hot, and be prepared to feel the burn after bites of green curry, tempered with coconut milk and laden with red bell pepper, jalapeño, lime, basil and a choice of chicken, beef, pork, tofu, vegetables, shrimp or seafood. Pineapple fried rice, a Thai restaurant mainstay, is full of scrambled eggs, tomatoes, garlic and onion, and, like the curry, can be ordered with a choice of various proteins. Though the dining room is cozy and colorful, Thai Café is especially good for take-out, lovely in front of a movie or a fire on a lazy afternoon. |
