Inside this compact box of a bistro, with its scarlet walls and placemats embedded with flower petals, you’ll feel like the candy. Perhaps it’s all by design: the menu targets lovers (as in The Ginger Lover, The Basil Lover, The Peanut Curry Lover, et al.). Flirt with sensuous coconut curries in red, yellow and green, especially the ruby curry with pumpkin and prawns. Despite the intimacy of the place, it’s not really suited for sharing like most Thai restaurants. Big square plates come portioned for one, with individual rice pyramids already doled out, and a side salad with sesame dressing. Someone’s sesame-happy, as the seeds dot many entrées, as well as rice and the satay’s peanut dipping sauce. Don’t overlook tapioca with coconut ice cream and fruit; fittingly, whipped cream isn’t in short supply. First-name basis customers wordlessly get their favorites---it’s that neighborly.
