Thai House Restaurant Restaurant Review

: Thai House’s festive décor of ethnic themes and bright, lively colors makes for a warm and inviting setting. Although appetizers hold little for those eschewing deep-fried indulgence, they give a good indication of classic Thai flavors. Try the poa pia, spring rolls with ground pork, clear noodles, dry black fungus and carrots wrapped in rice paper and paired with a sweet chili garlic sauce. Or go for the satay of chicken skewers marinated in spices and Thai herbs then char-grilled and served with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. Still, entrées demonstrate much more flexibility in terms of preparation. Boneless roasted duck topped with shrimp, squid, scallops, mussels, cashew nuts and broccoli in mild brown gravy sauce offers all the diversity of ingredients and flavor without the fiery effect. Kai kra prow, sautéed chicken with basil leaves, string beans and red pepper in chili and garlic sauce, demonstrates the spiciness that Thai cuisine can offer. A number of vegetarian-friendly dishes are also on hand.
