Thai House Restaurant Restaurant Review

: Thai House’s festive décor of ethnic themes and bright, lively colors makes for a warm and inviting setting. Although appetizers hold little for those eschewing deep-fried indulgence, they give a good indication of classic Thai flavors. Try the poa pia, Thai-style spring rolls with ground pork, clear noodles, dry black fungus and carrots wrapped in rice paper and paired with a sweet chili garlic sauce. Consider, too, the tod mun pla, a Thai fish cake seasoned with fresh herbs and red curry and accompanied by a cucumber salad sprinkled with ground peanuts. Entrées demonstrate much more flexibility in terms of preparation. Ped panang, a boneless roasted duck topped with panang curry, coconut milk and basil leaves, arrives flavorful and a touch fiery, while a nuer kra prow, sautéed beef with basil leaves, string beans, onions and peppers in chili and garlic sauce, provides a spicy rendition of the usual stir-fried beef and vegetables. A number of vegetarian-friendly dishes are also on hand.
