Thai Pepper Restaurant Review: Thai Pepper, situated in an old house in Upper Kirby, is one of the oldest Thai restaurants in Houston, founded and still run by a family from Thailand. The interior is cozy and romantic and the food is truly authentic. In fact, it's one of the few places in town where you can get mee krob, a crunchy sweet-and-sour rice noodle dish. Entrées can be ordered three ways: spicy hot, medium or mild. If you like heat, order the chef’s special Thai Pepper soft shell crabs; we also recommend the pad thai. And don’t pass up the fried bananas with homemade coconut ice cream. Parking is limited and the bar only pours beer and wine; take-out is another option.
