THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Thai Spice Restaurant Review:

Starring self-proclaimed superstar Thai chef Rujiraporn Chuvong, this Falls Church destination features a traditional Thai menu plus a shelf filled with Thai products, particularly something that the chef calls a Thai spice boat, built to resemble the typical floating-market boats that still ply the Chao Prya river in and around Bangkok. A gift set, the boat is filled with jars of Thai seasoning pastes, all created and produced by Chuvong. But we three came to eat, not to buy seasonings. We rated the crispy catfish appetizer perhaps the best of the meal, as other dishes seemed too Westernized. What, we asked, is James Bond scampi? Or a NY to Bangkok steak? We chortled at the Ooot Oooot pork ribs; that translates as oink, oink. These came in second, but the roasted duck with basil was a distinct last. If you like the flavors, however, you can pick up a spice boat on your way out and cook your own Thai meal at home.
