| Although adapted for Western sensibilities, the food here is usually pretty flavorful, whether it's Thai-inspired or a Chinese selection. Those who order Thai staples like tom yam kai will be greeted with something reasonably spicy and complex. Ditto the crispy, mild mee krob appetizer (made with crisply fried flecks of pork) and pad thai, with pan-fried, thin rice noodles, shrimp, chicken, eggs, bean sprouts, green onions and ground peanuts. Vegetarian pad thai also is available, swapping fried tofu for meat. If you're hungry for one of these dishes but can't tolerate Thai spices, no worries: any dish can be toned down. The house-made coconut ice cream makes a sweet meal-ender. |
