| Although adapted for Western sensibilities, the food here is flavorful. Those who order Thai staples like tom yum kai will be greeted with something reasonably spicy and complex. Ditto the crispy, mild mee krob appetizer (made with fried flecks of pork) or the pad thai with thin rice noodles, shrimp, chicken, eggs, bean sprouts, green onions and ground peanuts. Vegetarian pad thai also is available, swapping fried tofu for meat. The restaurant offers a number of imported and domestic beers to help manage the spice. If you can't tolerate heat, no worries: any dish can be toned down. The house-made coconut ice cream makes a sweet meal-ender. |
