Thanh Thanh Restaurant Review: Thanh Thanh, an authentic Vietnamese restaurant, starts the day by offering all-American breakfasts: omelets, pancakes, french toast. For lunch, banh mi accompany the familiar burger and club sandwich. Crispy fried young hen seasoned with five-spice powder is served with steamed buns if it's the day's special (and it often is). All are prepared by owner-chef Betty Nguyen-Archote. Bubble teas are made with fresh fruit, and the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk is strong and sweet. Expect the unexpected for dessert, such as a banana split for two. On a steamy summer day, try the Vietnamese iced coffee. The wine list, while short, offers some fairly decent selections, especially in white wines. Beers include a Vietnamese label. Service is professional.
