For decades, Thelma Grundy’s family affair has been favorite of the Downtown political and business set. We love any meat-and-three where you can count macaroni and cheese as vegetable. The fried chicken is delicious and the meatloaf (Thursday only) is so light it practically floats off the plate. Both entrées are at their best nestled beside smoky greens and a sweet potato soufflé so silky good it’ll make you drop your cornbread. If you see the infrequently offered okra pancakes, don’t miss them.
