| In Toast Kitchen & Wine Bar, chef/co-owner Chet Garland and his partner Paul Tebbets speak to today’s taste for smart, casual, comfortable dining, offering good value. Chef Garland has long been a promoter of chef-farmer partnerships and seasonality. The almost daily changing menu reflects his love of clean flavors and comforting foods---but always with singularly personal style---as well as his experience cooking in the South. The flexible kitchen encourages diners to order as little or as much as they want and in whatever order. Some popular dishes include Gerber Farm-raised chicken, roasted with seasonal vegetables and served with rosemary jus; and shrimp with Byrd Mill grits, habanero cheddar and brown butter. The four-course chef’s choice tasting menu is refreshingly priced at $40, paired with wine for an additional $25. |
