Toast Kitchen & Wine Bar Restaurant Review: In Toast Kitchen & Wine Bar, chef/co-owner Chet Garland and his partner Paul Tebbets speak to today’s taste for smart, casual, comfortable dining, at good value. The kitchen shows the owners' dedication to chef-farmer partnerships and seasonality. The almost daily changing menu reflects a love of clean flavors and comforting foods --- plus a small nod to Southern cooking traditions. The flexible kitchen encourages diners to order as little or as much as they want and in whatever order. Some popular dishes include local barbecued pork shank and shrimp with Byrd Mill grits, habanero cheddar and brown butter. The four-course tasting menu is refreshingly priced at $40 and allows several selections within each course.
