Toast Restaurant Review: Displaced New Yorkers will feel right at home the moment they spot the bakery display. Confectioneries created by NY’s famous Magnolia Bakery alumni are nearly identical to Magnolia’s legendary pastries and other sweet treats. We like the sprinkle-topped cupcakes of childhood dreams as well as the more adult red velvet cake. In addition to baked goods, Toast specializes in breakfast, which it serves all day. Along with the requisite omelets and french toast, the café creates playful breakfast sandwiches and unique pancake combinations like tri-berry and cinnamon walnut, fluffy in the center with slightly crisp edges. An all-day menu features simple salads, pressed sandwiches and quiches, along with a variety of soups and specials. |
