Todd English's Tuscany Restaurant Review: When you sit down at most of the tables at Mohegan Sun Casino, you're taking a gamble. Not so at celebrity chef Todd English's Tuscany. Tucked behind the casino's thundering, 55-foot Taughannick Falls, the restaurant possesses an intimate grotto-like atmosphere in which to savor a regularly changing menu of regional Italian classics that are comfortably familiar yet intriguingly worldly. The kitchen excels at just about everything from the crisp free-form pizzas like the Tuscan---English's signature combo of prosciutto, Fontina, Gorgonzola, fig jam and rosemary---to fresh gnocchi from the open pasta-making station to entrées that underscore English's famously bold style. Consider Tuscan potpie with chicken, pancetta and shrimp under an herb-cheese crust. Top it off with a rustic sweet like honey-almond panna cotta and you'll definitely be able to tell your friends you got rich at the casino.
