Tom’s Deli, the brainchild of Tom Conran, is fun from the moment you step into the sweet shop at the front and either go downstairs to the deli or further back to the small café and garden. Breakfasts are famous; try the spiced poached fruit with cardamom and pistachio yoghurt to get yourself going, then ruin the healthy start with a fry-up. Omelets, sandwiches like pastrami with homemade pickles and crisps, first-rate salads and daily specials keep the place busy all day. Friendly, bustling and local: what more could you want?
