Toney Bento Restaurant Review: Just off the crush of Hawthorne Boulevard, this friendly, downscale spot offers basic bento, udon and sushi at reasonable prices. It’s a good place for newbies to be introduced to Japanese cuisine; nothing is too adventurous though there are plenty of combinations if you want to explore. Good values include the pot stickers, a large bowl of miso soup with noodles, or a bento bowl filled to the rim with rice, vegetables and meat. A word to the wise: skip the sushi and stick with the bento. And to wash it all down, try a Japanese beer. |
