| With its picturesque riverside setting, Tony & Joe’s is a popular destination for folks who enjoy good seafood and unrivaled vistas while eating. No wonder it has become a must-stop on many tourists’ agenda, and remains a favorite for locals who like waterfront dining. In warm weather, the restaurant opens up its outdoors terrace just at the Potomac’s edge---warm breezes and the sight of rowers, sailboats and the Virginia shoreline add up to a charming experience. With its obvious focus on seafood, it makes the most sense to order up some of the house specials---you can’t go far wrong with the bouillabaisse, the chef’s version of the French classic that here comes with plenty of plump mussels and very large shrimp. Check out the catch of the day, and if you enjoy crab cakes, don’t skip the house version with jumbo lump crab meat pan-fried or broiled. Desserts include such standards as Key lime pie, brownie à la mode, and a special turtle cheesecake. |
