The Tractor Room Restaurant Review

: From the owners of Hash House A Go Go, a Hillcrest breakfast spot, comes this equally fun, over-the-top drinks and dinner destination. Located across the street from Hash House, the restaurant combines posh yet retro styling (dark lighting, wine-colored walls and velvet curtains) with kitschy hunting lodge paraphernalia (note the antler chandelier and wall-mounted deer head). Somehow it all works. The “in” spot for the urban carnivore crowd, The Tractor Room is great for socializing. Portions are extra large, so order accordingly, or plan on sharing a dish. We like the Wisconsin cheddar macaroni and cheese, the white bean and duck soup, and the elk sausage ravioli. If you must eat a bit healthier, go for the wedge Caesar salad or the fresh market tomato with basil pesto and griddled Parmesan. The cornbread is a bit dry and the chicken wings are a bit chewy, but the buffalo stew and venison meatloaf are stick-to-your-ribs dishes to order while drinking one of the bar's 50 classic cocktail concoctions.
