THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Trader Vic's Lounge Restaurant Review:

When the original Trader Vic’s at The Beverly Hilton shuttered, it was reincarnated as Trader Vic’s Lounge in a different location, right by the pool, under the palm trees. A giant movie screen and DJs on Friday and Saturday nights help keep revelers entertained. This is the “Home of the Original Mai Tai,” and it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a drink outdoors in a very LA setting. Other trademark exotic cocktails include the Zombie, Navy Grog and Scorpion Bowl (a formidable, festive concoction serving four). Chef de cuisine Zack Gochin and the kitchen, which is shared with neighboring restaurant Circa 55, turn out a short menu of tidbits and “pupus.” Among them are crispy coconut prawns, crab Rangoon, steamed lobster dumplings with sesame-chili sauce, and a selection of sashimi and sushi rolls. More robust appetites can opt for the Thai red curry, wok-fried rice noodles or “Indo-China” seafood fried rice with scallops, shrimp and crab. A full-service version of Trader Vic’s, which operates restaurants from London to Dubai, is located downtown, at L.A. Live.
