Trattoria do Forni Restaurant Review

: Although Trattoria do Forni in its present form dates from the ’70s, the place has been a favorite of Venetians and visitors for centuries, going back to the early days of the Venetian Republic when it started life as a bakery. This vast space covers nearly a block, but still seems intimate because of its many rooms. The menu presents traditional Venetian cuisine and includes numerous dishes highlighting seafood, which comes directly from the lagoon and the Adriatic Sea. As a starter, you may opt for crab or oysters or a few slices of San Daniele ham. The main course of sea bass baked in salt is a specialty. Steaks are available if you choose to forgo fish. Pair your selection with seasonal contorni (sides). Finish your meal with the three-layer chocolate mousse cake, a do Forni original. The wine list is extensive and most of the vineyards of Italy are represented.
