THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Trattoria Portobello Restaurant Review:

Fourth Avenue finally is coming into its own in the Gaslamp Quarter, thanks in part to this beautifully decorated restaurant that also houses one of the neighborhood’s most inviting bars. Under the same management as Fifth Avenue’s Osteria Panevino---the restaurants join at the rear---Trattoria Portobello takes a more formal approach. Start with a fritto misto of batter-fried artichoke hearts, shrimp and squid or perhaps a shared portion of risotto with asparagus. Seafood specials turn up on the entrée list, along with veal scallops, osso bucco and a steak or two, and wild game puts in an occasional appearance.
