THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Trattoria Roma Restaurant Review:

Your first look at Trattoria Roma---tucked into a strip shopping center that's seen better days---intimates that this is your friendly old neighborhood red-sauce dive. But inside, it's a different story. The modest dining room is spruced up with white tablecloth-covered tables, the decorations are uncluttered, and there's a tiny bar off to the side---the only place where smoking is permitted. Since Trattoria Roma is so accessible from I-71, it draws patrons from all over. They come for Central and Northern Italian food prepared in a sumptuously American manner: if some is good, more is better. The signature pastas are the filled ones, both because they're house-made and because they're hard to find. We recommend the cappellacci al pomodoro, which look like oversized ravioli; they're filled with a blend of ground veal and chestnuts, cooked al dente, and served with a fresh-tasting, herby tomato sauce. Other filled pastas worth your attention include tortelli filled with seafood and dressed with a smoked salmon sauce, and agnolotti stuffed with spinach, Gorgonzola, Romano and ricotta. The agnolotti come with a choice of cream or tomato-basil sauces; opt for the latter. From the large number of meat dishes, try either of the osso buccos or the veal with porcini mushrooms. The wine list is larger than normal and is devoted almost entirely to Italian wines. It shows plenty of depth and features several rare bottles.
