TREMEZZO IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS. Colorful Tremezzo captures the flavors of fine Northern Italian cuisine in a romantic setting enhanced by dim lighting, soothing background music and impeccable service. The generosity of the welcome is typified by freshly baked ciabatta and rosemary and black olive breads, accompanied by sun-dried tomato spread, olive tapenade and extra-virgin olive oil. We like the extensive choice of starters, including beef carpaccio with fig balsamic, and heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad. Very good steamed Manila clams with garlic and white wine come on their own as an appetizer or over linguine as main course pasta. We've also been impressed with the wild mushroom risotto. Authentic tastes continue with branzino, whole roasted sea bass with cipollini onions, olives, fennel and marinated tomatoes; and a robust bistecca alla pizzaiola, pan-roasted New York strip with a sauce of tomatoes, fresh oregano and capers. Desserts cover more of the map, ranging from a tiramisu martini to vanilla bean crème brûlée to brioche bread pudding with caramel sauce. Or you can end your meal with a selection from among 12 dessert wines, three Armagnacs, 20 Cognacs and 15 grappas and digestivi. The award-winning list of more than 500 wines, plus views of the Strip and the cozy patio that overlooks it, only deepen the dining experience.
