THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED True Restaurant Review:

A restaurant that prides itself on its organic foodstuffs is not, one would think, the place to go for a romantic dinner unless one is wooing a member of the Green Party. Which may be one reason that True---subtitled “a pure dining experience”---seems to be better known to the tourists who frequent the Admiral Fell Inn than to the locals. It’s their loss. True may be dedicated to natural, locally sourced ingredients, but there’s nothing crunchy-granola about it. This is fine-dining at its sexiest: silken lobster bisque topped with sherry-roasted lobster; seared duck breast; grilled veal chop with forest mushroom sauté, foie gras demi-glace and black truffle-studded angel hair pasta. (The menu is seasonally appropriate and changes frequently, but expect each season’s dishes to be similarly luxe.) The dining room features stone walls, flattering indirect lighting, a wine cellar, baroque music…and, we understand, an occasional visit from one of the historic hotel’s resident ghosts.
