In the downstairs wine cellar and private room, the exotic ambience of a Turkish bath flows into a sophisticated lounge for devotees of viticulture. Upstairs, glowing lanterns illuminate a gleaming dark wood bar and white cloth-covered tables. If you're waiting on someone, take yourself to the antique-laden lounge in the back and try some vino from Turkey or one of the other worldly selections listed on the wine menu. For appetizers, friendly waiters display a tray arranged with meze plates such a stuffed grape leaves, patlican salatasi (smoked eggplant) and hummus. Add in some steaming fresh, herbed bread and then try not to fill up before the main course. Entrées include chunks of grilled chicken served with light garlic yogurt and tomato sauce on crispy Turkish pita bread, chargrilled swordfish skewers with seasoned mashed potatoes, and grilled filet mignon in red wine sauce with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The honeyed taste of baklava for dessert is a sweet way to end your night and a pungent cup of Turkish coffee is just the thing to power you home.
