This Upper East Side eatery’s exuberant and eccentric host, Sammy, puts a smile on diners' faces. His charm carries over to the rest of the restaurant, making a meal here more than just a pleasure for the taste buds. The modern ocean-inspired setting is an appropriate match for the mainly seafood menu. Starters include tandoori chicken skewers with tomato coriander chutney and spearmint zest; and Maryland-style crab cakes with crunchy slaw, homemade spicy mustard and Turquoise tartar sauce. Main dishes include the "Kingfish" duo of salmon filet and pistachio crusted mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and steamed string beans, as well as a wide array of whole fish. The wide array of fish does well when accompanied by some of the rich and inventive sauces; as stand-alone grilled portions, some of the seafood offerings can lack flavor. A nice wine list of both half bottles and full bottles of reds and whites is offered along with cocktails. Desserts are also very pleasant with the crêpe cake an interesting variation on a millefeuille.
