The Two Bells Bar & Grill Restaurant Review: Locals from nearby artists’ lofts and pricey high-rise condos go to this funky, unpretentious tavern to enjoy beer and a burger. Featuring freshly-ground beef, the juicy burgers are served on French baguettes with your choice of potato salad, potato chips, baked beans, coleslaw, or a well-prepared soup of the day. That's right---no fries, but we guarantee you won't miss them. Our favorite burgers include the Tavern Burger topped with bacon and grilled onions or a variation smothered with blue cheese. There’s also a tasty chicken burger, a salmon burger, and classic Caesar salad and a respectable lasagna. In the dessert category, homemade pies include maple blueberry, Key lime, and a decidedly decadent chocolate cream. A fair selection of microbrews, a small but surprisingly well chosen list of wines, plus a full bar are available. Service is friendly and welcoming, although not especially fast. The 21-and-over tavern doesn't offer much in the way of notable décor, but that's part of its charm. |
