THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Two Blocks Off the Beach Restaurant Review: THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED You’ll find a cozy ambience here whether you sit at the wine bar, in a booth or on the antique loveseats clustered around a rustic coffee table. It’s the perfect rendezvous for friends and lovers, and Two Blocks offers one of the best wine programs in town. The locally-focused list features an array of moderately priced bottles with two dozen offered by the glass, brought to the table in a six-ounce mini-carafe. The Mediterranean menu, though simple, offers tasty choices. It’s composed mostly of panini, and we like the tender tri-tip topped with pepper jack cheese and caramelized onions on toasted ciabatta. Another sandwich features prosciutto with triple crème Brie, figs, apples and fig-balsamic vinaigrette. Standards like Caesar and spinach salads are crisp and fresh, served in large bowls. Bruschetta can be ordered with any four of nine available toppings, including Tuscan bean, tomato, smoked Gouda and salami. Every dish was designed for sharing, and all pair well with the wine. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., Two Blocks highlights local winemakers who turn out to personally pour their wines for guests.
