Among the lineup of small ethnic restaurants and pubs on 3rd Avenue, Two Door Tavern appeals to sports bar fans, locals on a date and families. A solid bistro burger will please all, but there’s much more with red velvet pancakes served all day and quinoa bowls for vegetarians. A menu of empanadas riffs on regional themes like the Carolina with pulled pork or the Santa Fe with chicken and chipotle sauce. The Friday and Saturday night lobster mac ‘n cheese special is a neighborhood favorite. Comfortable and friendly, the long restaurant/bar area leads to a setback with tables for quieter conversation.
