THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Typhoon Restaurant Review:

Thailand-born Watcharee Tongdee and her partner Michael Johnson designed a sleek, minimalist interior for their restaurant venture. Soft music, soft colors and thoughtful artwork add warmth to the upscale but relaxed ambience. Chef Michael Olshansky nicely executes such classic dishes as pad thai, panang beef curry and fiery green curry chicken. But other, diverse culinary currents and a contemporary attitude augment the hot, salty, sweet, sour, bitter experience. Sashimi, spicy squid and soba noodles line up on the menu alongside green curry linguine with tiny shrimp, basil and sweet and hot peppers, and grilled mahi mahi with spicy red and green peppers nan prik. Expect fresh ingredients---and spice, though not all dishes have heat. Presentations are attractive.
