Tyrynda Thai Restaurant Restaurant Review: This Sleepy Hollow Thai eatery exudes an understated elegance with its cool lime-green walls, soft lighting and tastefully appointed dining room. The chef was trained in Thailand, and the restaurant demonstrates authenticity with dishes such as the marinated Thai beef in a spicy tamarind sauce, and the Thai fried shrimp that are wrapped in spring roll skin with sweet chili sauce. Spicy tom yum goong, a clear soup with shrimp, red peppers, mushrooms and lime juice, piques the appetite. So does the pad kee mao (drunken man): stir-fried flat noodles, red peppers, onions, bamboo shoots and basil with a choice of meat or seafood. We recommend the scallop, shrimp and squid combination when opting for the jungle curry, with its string beans, bell peppers, corn and eggplant. On the lighter and less fiery side is the refreshing seafood salad with a touch of citrus. Desserts inspired by Asian flavors include fried banana with honey and ice cream, and coffee and tea crème brûlée. A number of cocktails, beers, sakés and wines by the glass, half carafe and carafe complement the fare.
