THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Uni, A Sushi Place Restaurant Review:

Up a flight of stairs, this sushi place offers a contemporary setting for some offbeat---and traditional---sushi, sashimi, and full-scale Japanese cooking. But it also takes its saké very seriously, offering not only a surprisingly large selection of both commonplace and select varieties (and sampler of same), but also a saké-tini happy hour. Stopping by for lunch? You may want to consider one of their traditional bento lunch boxes with salad, braised vegetables, miso soup, and your choice of a teriyaki, tempura, or tonkatsu entrée. But we’d vote for a return visit to the sushi choices, such as the crunchy shrimp roll and the Black Widow roll with soft shell crab. Don’t miss the noodles with broth. Dinners mean soups and salads as well as small dishes and large entrées. At both meals, desserts mix East and West flavors, textures. What about an azuki panna cotta or ice cream tempura? By the way, uni means sea urchin, and to the Japanese, it is something unique and outstanding. You may find the restaurant is that way, too.
