| Hartford's seafood lovers should look no further for fish than this local family hangout. The kitchen does a lot with lobster---steaming it, stuffing it and serving it on a roll or in a bowl (as bisque), as well as using it for the savory pie that is a New England fave. Of course it's known for chowder. But the specialty has got to be the giant Chowder Pot Platter, which includes a sampling of just about every type of regional seafood imaginable. The nautical décor may be a bit hokey, but you've got to love the theme as it manifests itself in the Shrimpwrecked Mary---a Bloody Mary with shrimp on the side. |
