| A 1996 gift to Westsiders who love Cantonese seafood, V.I.P. is a good place for a multi-course Chinese banquet. You'll usually see lots of parties of six or more dining, and service is always prompt. Go for the dim sum during the day---items like filet of flounder with shrimp, B.B.Q. pork rice noodle or steamed har gow. For adventurous eaters, there are chicken feet with black bean sauce. At night, V.I.P. breaks out specialties such as crab with ginger and green onion, crispy cod in mustard sauce and shrimp on a skewer with spicy salt. This is one of those rare Westside restaurants where you can rely on the quality of such delicacies as shark's fin, abalone, lobster and Peking duck, dramatically carved tableside. For dessert, opt for mango or coffee pudding. |
