V.I.P. is a great place for a multicourse Chinese banquet. You’ll usually see lots of parties of six or more dining in these rather dressy surroundings. Go for the dim sum during the day. But at night, try such specialties as crab with black-bean sauce, crispy fish with ginger-and-scallion sauce and shrimp on a skewer with spicy salt. This is one of those rare local restaurants where you can rely on the quality of such delicacies as shark’s fin soup, live shrimp, crab, lobster, seasonal fish and Peking duck, dramatically carved tableside.
