THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Vegetate Restaurant Review:
How many Washingtonians know that this small, very unpretentious vegetarian place actually boasts an almost all-vegan menu? Good news for non-carnivores in this meat-loving town. Menu descriptions intrigue with images of deft seasonings highlighting each course yet portions are so small that one may walk away feeling unfulfilled. The entrée of curried sweet potatoes and black beans may pair well with roast beef, but it does not really stand alone. And its seasonings are virtually nonexistent. The sunchoke and goat cheese gratin appetizer, despite its diminutive size, is a meal-saver. We can also recommend the roasted fingerling potatoes spiced with daubs of grainy mustard.
